Interview: Global Bambino. Meet Anna.

Bright and bold patterns coupled with super soft fabrics, Aussie grown but loved across the world, Global Bambino is a fast growing brand for Mamas with funky little people who need unique and fun clothing. Anna and the Original Bambino, Nerai, send out handmade GB pieces from their home base on Queensland’s Gold Coast – that is when they’re not hanging out with their Market-Family, introducing the locals to Global Bambino threads! We loved catching up with Anna and witnessing the passion of a real mumpreneur building her business from scratch!

PP: What’s your name, and who are you?

Anna: Anna, mum to 1, ladyboss, mumpreneur and Gold Coaster.

I’m driven to create something of my own, and motivated by my love of running a business.

PP: When someone receives a products from your range, what do you want their response to be? What do you want them to notice?

Anna: The lack of cool boys clothes on the market. A desire to dress my son in something more original and varied than the stock available in major retailers. To provide something hip and cool for all the mamas with boys out there!

PP: Is there something about your store/range you wish everyone would know?

Anna: Our range is designed by by me, and sewn locally with love. We are a handmade label, all Australian made. Our fabrics are organic cotton and are amazingly soft!

PP: Share 5 words that describe your business.

Anna: Hipster. Individuality. Local. Comfy. Trendsetter.

PP: Favourite item in your store and why?

Anna: GB Scarfz! Our alternative to bibs. Super comfy, they look so cute and fashionable yet are also safe and functional. It’s our little addition to the range I just love selling and love seeing on our bambinos.

PP: Share the love. Are there any favourite small businesses you wish the world knew about?

Anna: Catch a falling star and LV Kids.

PP: Most memorable moment between yourself and a customer?

Anna: Selling one of my Trucker caps and a GB Scarf to a little 8 year old with MS. Seeing her with the hat and scarf on, and the smile on her face – priceless!

PP: Do you remember the first product you sold?

Anna: First sale was at my first market. I can’t remember the item, but I know it started as a really slow day then suddenly picked up – $110 total! That first day was a real eye opener.. I was so nervous. Now a year later I have grown so much, the brand has developed, and the range has evolved beyond what I could have imagined.

PP: What’s your favourite thing about pregnancy?

Anna: Getting a baby at the end – I didn’t enjoy it to be honest.

PP: What’s your favourite thing about parenthood?

Anna: Watching my little human learn and develop. He still amazes me everyday .

PP: Best parenting advice you ever received?

Anna: Follow your heart as to what you feel is right.
